Glyphosate: The most damaging toxic chemical in our environment

Glyphosate, also known as Roundup, is the most widely used herbicide on the planet.
Recent evidence suggests that glyphosate is also the most significant toxic chemical in our environment.
It is the main factor behind the alarming increase in the incidence of multiple diseases and conditions. A partial list includes autism, coeliac disease, Alzheimer’s disease, neural tube defects, liver and kidney disease, diabetes and obesity.
In her presentation, Dr Seneff is describing the mechanisms by which glyphosate harms
cellular function, and for the first time, the idea that glyphosate may be substituting for glycine by mistake during protein synthesis.
Glyphosate is a glycine molecule with a methyl phosphonly group attached to the nitrogen. Many papers argue that glyphosate’s toxicity derives in part from its mimicry of glycine.
Dr Seneff is discussing several cases of proteins that are known to have essential glycine residues in their sequence. Remarkably, the concept of glyphosate substitution for glycine easily accounts for most of the diseases that are rising in incidence in step with glyphosate usage.
In the final part of the discussion she discusses how to detoxify glyphosate as well as lifestyle and dietary approaches to protect our patients from glyphosate toxicity.
Dr Stephanie Seneff PhD
Stephanie Seneff is a Senior Research Scientist at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. For over three decades, her research interests have always been at the intersection of biology and computation: developing a computational model for the human auditory system, understanding human language so as to develop algorithms and systems for human computer interactions, as well as applying natural language processing techniques to gene predictions.
She has published over 170 refereed articles on these subjects, and has been invited to give keynote speeches at several international conferences. In recent years, Dr. Seneff has focused her research interests back towards biology. She is concentrating mainly on the relationship between nutrition and health. Since 2011, she has published over two dozen papers in various medical and health-related journals on topics such as modern day diseases (e.g., Alzheimer, autism, cardiovascular diseases), analysis and search of databases of drug side effects using natural language processing techniques, and the impact of nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxins on human health.
